The U.S. author Dan Brown was born in 1965 in New Hampshire in the United States of America, being the son of a mathematics teacher and an interpreter of sacred music. Brown studied at the local high school and later graduated from the University of Amherst.
He moved to Los Angeles where he tried a career as a composer, pianist and singer. However, this life plan failed and Dan Brown ended up studying art history in Seville, Spain. However, the socks with his wife, wrote the book 187 Men to Avoid: A Guide for the Romantically Frustrated Woman.
In 1993 he returned to New Hampshire to become a professor of English at the school where he had studied. Finally, in March 2003, Dan Brown launched the North American market The Da Vinci Code (The Da Vinci Code), which on the first day sold over six million copies, has become one of the best-selling books ever in the world, with publications in 42 languages.
The Da Vinci Code is a detective story whose protagonist symbologist an American. Through the work of Leonardo Da Vinci, one can find many encrypted messages, trying to get evidence to uncover a secret hundreds of years. In the book arise institutions such as Opus Dei and the Priory of Sion
The book arrived in Portugal in 2004 and after a few months reached eleven editions. The success of this book led to it being advertised a film adaptation and a sequel literature.
